Description

To begin the interview, Matsunaga speaks about his family background, which included his father, mother and eight siblings. Growing up in Hawaii, he would go to school until 9th grade, at which time, the family purchased the dairy farm they were working on and Matsunaga left school to help full time. Next, he talks about his schooling, golfing and holidays while growing up. While working on the dairy farm, he learned about the Pearl Harbor attacks and was quickly drafted into the Army.
