Description

Mr. Kobashigawa introduces himself and talks about his family and childhood. He grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii, his father worked as a truck farmer, and Mr. Kobashigawa played baseball throughout his youth. Forced to drop out of school at a young age to help support his family, Mr. Kobashigawa was drafted into the Army before the Pearl Harbor attack. Mr. Kobashigawa goes on to describe the Pearl Harbor attack and his subsequent shipment to the mainland where he trained at Camp McCoy and Camp Shelby.
