Description

Surh begins by recalling the capacity of her contact with her husband, Young Kim, while they were in different parts of Europe serving in the Army. She proceeds to talk about her work treating patients as an Army Nurse. Afterwards, she talks about traveling to Germany to do additional work with the Army before returning home. She elaborates on her return home by sharing an emotional memory of seeing the Statue of Liberty during her homecoming. Surh also discusses more of her experiences as an army nurse, such as her memories of France and the French people before talking about what motivated her to initially volunteer for service.
