Description

Surh begins the interview by discussing her visit to Jerome to see her best friend Nish and her family. She expresses confusion and disappointment at the fact that the U.S. government would incarcerate its own citizens. Surh also talks about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the reactions she saw from soldiers she was treating from Hickam Air Field in Hawaii. After talking about her experiences serving as an Army Nurse overseas during the war, Surh speaks about her experiences post-war, including working as a civilian nurse. Lastly ,she ends by beginning to discuss her different hobbies and activities outside of work.
