Toshiro Hiraide oral history interview, part 1 of 5, February 23, 2003

Hiraide describe his family settling in Southern California, his early life living in the Los Angeles area and Japan. Hiraide describes his youth living in West Los Angeles, attending Japanese School, high school, and helping with his father's landscape business. Mr. Hiraide reflects on the the day of the Pearl Harbor attack and his time serving in the California State Guard. The interview segment concludes Hiraide's description of his family being taken to the Manzanar Concentration Camp.
