Description

Hiraide discusses arriving at the Manzanar Concentration Camp and describes camp conditions. Soon after arriving, he was assigned a job in the welfare office and soon befriended a woman who assisted him with a job working at the War Relocation Authority in Washington D.C. Leaving Manzanar, he was eventually drafted into the army where he served as a Japanese teacher for the officers. The video concludes with Hiraide thoughts about the end of the war as well as his family's experience after the closing of Manzanar.
