In this segment, Hiroshi Kaku begins by recalling the intense, year-long training that he endured with the 442nd. Besides training, Kaku also discusses many memories and experiences from his days in the Army. He briefly talks about traveling overseas in a troop ship before transitioning to speaking about the conflict that initially existed between the Hawaiian Nisei and Mainland Nisei soldiers.
