Shimo discusses his family and how he met his spouses. He later discusses bringing together many Niseis who had differing experiences during the war for a book project--Soldiers of Conscience: Japanese American Military Resisters in World War II. Shimo concludes the interview giving his thoughts on the Nisei experience during the war and his advice to younger generations.
