Description

Kuga speaks about how he was drafted into the Army and began his basic training at Camp Shelby in Mississippi. While there, he made friends with many Hawaiian soldiers, visited Rohwer concentration camp, and boxed. Next, he discusses various Japanese American political figures and their impacts after the war. After his basic training, he was shipped to Europe where he would begin battle in the Apennine Mountains. From there, he would be involved in the Champagne campaign, Leghorn and the Gothic Line push. Next, he talks about what it was like to be a Japanese American in the Army and an incident that occurred during his battle time at Massa-Carrara.
