Inami discusses his parents immigrating from Japan to Madera, California, and talks about his father's work as a farmer. He then talks about his childhood and discusses his siblings, chores, helping out on the farm, going to school, and the values he learned from his parents. Inami then continues to talk about his childhood and discusses speaking Japanese at home, discipline, attending Japanese language school, going to the movies, and the Japanese American community. Lastly, Inami talks about his experiences during a childhood trip with his family to Japan.
