During this portion of the interview, Thomas Haga gives his personal introduction, as well as information regarding his parent's background. In addition, we hear about Thomas' sibling's background and Thomas' early education and attending Japanese language school. Next, Thomas discuses his father's professional background, as well as details regarding his own birth. For here, we hear more about Thomas' early education and the intramural sports he played as a youth. What's more, we hear about Thomas' parent's values, as well as the relationship he had with his siblings. Next, Thomas talks about the bombing of Pearl Harbor, as well as the effects of the event. Lastly, we hear about Thomas' work experience and his experience volunteering for military service and his journey to Camp Shelby.
