Description

Otoshi discusses his childhood growing up in Honolulu including talking about his childhood home; father's occupation; his neighborhood and neighbors; and mother's laundry business. He then talks about his father's involvement with Hiroshima Kenjinkai and the tanomoshi-ko financial system; and discusses plantation workers, friendships, and recreational activities such as surfing and fishing. Lastly, Otoshi discusses his siblings, speaking Pidgin at home, memorable teachers, attending Japanese language school, and a linguist position he held in Okinawa.
