Description

Hanamura discusses prejudice he faced growing up, and also discusses his childhood friendships. He then talks about going to college, working on an apple farm, getting drafted, and his experiences after the attack on Pearl Harbor including leaving belongings behind- some of which were stolen. Next, Hanamura talks about his knowledge of incarceration camps; getting inducted and going to Camp Robinson for basic training; and his friendships with other Nisei soldiers. Lastly, Hanamura provides some thoughts regarding being a replacement, discusses his experiences during the Lost Battalion rescue, and talks about the size of a company in the Army.
