Description
Takashige continues to talk about working during the Great Depression. Following the pineapple cannery, he would find a job as an elevator boy at Royal Hawaiian Hotel, eventually moving up to a position of bar boy. While working there, he would be drafted into the Army. Next, he talks about his whereabouts during the attacks on Pearl Harbor. As he was in the Army at that time, he was on guard duty for the 298th, which was a National Guard division. He talks about the guard duty that he had and the original plan to make all Japanese go to Molokai. Next, they would be shipped out from Schofield Barracks to San Francisco, and then taking a train to Camp McCoy in Wisconsin.
