Description

Hamasu discusses his role and duties as staff sergeant in F Company, leaving Hawaii and being assigned to the 100th Infantry Battalion, and what it was like traveling to the Mainland and going to Wisconsin for basic training at Camp McCoy. Hamasu then went to Camp Shelby and describes his living conditions there, as well as the time he spent at Louisiana Maneuvers. Next, Hamasu talks about meeting up with 442nd, going to Camp Kilmer, and then shipping out to Oran, Africa where he was assigned to the 34th Division and received training before shipping out to Salerno, Italy.
