Description
Hada discusses his relationship with Spark Matsunaga, receiving the Silver Star medal, and what it was like being out on the ridge alone during his forward observer assignment. He then talks about getting trench foot and being sent to a hospital in North Africa, returning to the 100th, and being sent back to the United States and settling in Hawaii, where he remained in military service until retirement. Hada also talks about the differences between Nisei and other American soldiers, his wife and children, his karaoke hobby, and provides some advice for future generations of Japanese Americans.
