Description

Thomas Sakamoto participated in the Occupation of Japan as a Language Aide (interpreter/translator) for War Correspondence. He talks about his experience as a Language Aide and the different assignments he completed. He describes what it was like to witness the ceremony of the official surrender of Japan, in which the Japanese delegation was taken aboard the USS Missouri to sign the surrender documents.
